A workshop to discuss how Nigeria can implement the principles of the open government partnership and measures required to increase transparency within the Federal Government was conducted on the 4th of May 2016 at Transcorp Hilton hotel.

The Director- General Bureau of Public Service Reform (BPSR), Dr. Joe Abah has called for the sustainability of the Community of Practice (CoP) to enable continuous learning on how to manage and coordinate reforms for improved service delivery.
He made this call in an opening speech on Tuesday April 5. 2016 at two-day inaugural meeting of CoP sponsored by Department for International Development, (DFID)–SPARC (State Partnership for Accountability Responsiveness and Capacity) in conjunction with BPSR for states with reform structures.

The Director General of Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dr Joe Abah, has urged Directors of Reform Coordination and Service Improvements in Ministries to become agents of change in the ongoing reforms of the public service in line with the change ‘mantra’ of the current Administration.
Dr Abah gave this advice while addressing the Directors during an executive seminar organized by BPSR in partnership with Governance and Management Services International (GMSI), UK held in Abuja on Thursday 7th April, 2016.
Nigeria Develops a National Strategy for Public Service Reform
On 12 March 2015, the National Steering Committee on Public Service Reforms approved a National Strategy on Public Service Reforms (NSPSR) for presentation to the Federal Executive Council in April.
The Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) Dr. Joe Abah, said ‘This is big news and very exciting. The National Strategy provides a common vision and a long-term agenda to guide the transformation of the federal public service. The NSPSR is comprehensive, long term, and is aligned with Nigeria’s Vision 20:2020 with the goal of positioning the country in the 20 leading economies in the world by 2020'

FG DIRECTS PERMANENT SECRETARIES TO LAUNCH UNIFIED E-MAIL PLATFORM IN THEIR MDAs
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mr. Danladi Kifasi has directed all Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service to launch the www.fedcs.gov.ng initiative in their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Federal Government, so that officers could effectively and efficiently utilize the resource.
The Head of Service gave the directive in Abuja today during the unveiling ceremony of the unified e-mail platform for the Federal Civil Service of Nigeria and the campaign for adoption and penetration of the switch to (.gov.ng).
