Capacity Building for BPSR Staff »CONCLUDING PART OF THE CAPACITY BUILDING FOR THE STAFF OF BUREAU OF PUBLIC SERVICE REFORMS (BPSR) ON WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT BY QUANTEQ TECHNOLOGY SERVICES LTD FROM 4TH – 8TH JULY 2011. In its bid to effectively manage the capacity of its Staff for efficient communication of the reforms to the Public, the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) engaged the service of a reputable ICT Resource firm, Quanteq Technology Services Ltd., to train the Staff of Communication department and ICT Unit of the Bureau on WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT. The Staff are the desk officers in the Bureau that handle client update of the official website of BPSR, an interface that support the interaction and collaboration of the Bureau with its Stakeholders/Partners and , therefore the training was aimed at building them with the relevant skills to enable them provide real time support and administration to the website. The training was trimester, knowledge based and hands-on with the participants having a feel of the latest web development tools and technologies. The 1st and the 2nd Semester were commenced from November 2010 through February 2011. During the 1st and 2nd Semester the key fundamentals of web development tools like HTML, Dreamweaver, CSS, Joomla e.t.c. were treated. At the end of the two semesters, the participants were able to build, populate and uplink a dynamic website. In the 3rd Semester , which was from 4th – 8th July , 2011, Advanced Web Development courses were taken, in which the participants obtained the skills to astutely and professionally develop and manage a website in line with global best practice. The training was well and consistently attended by the participants. Also the organizer of the program was able to do justice to the delivery of the knowledge as its resource persons took their time to thoroughly teach the participants the step by step approach of the Website technologies and applications. BPSR PARTNERS WITH LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT ON BEST PRACTICES

The Bureau of Public Service Reforms has commenced partnership with the Lagos State Government to draw on lessons and best practices from on-going Reform programmes both at the Federal and State levels for the benefit of both parties and the Nation.
The Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dauda Kigbu made this known when the Directors General of the Lagos State Transformation Office, Mr.  Toba Otusanya and that of the Public Service Staff Development Centre, Lagos State, Mrs Bunmi Fabamwo    paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Kigbu said that the meeting is at the instance of the Lagos State Government to explore areas of mutual cooperation between the Bureau and the Transformation Office of Lagos State Government. He further recalled the sensitization forum held for Heads of the State Civil Service last year and the contributions of Lagos State Officials at the forum.
